* Founded - 1 nov 1966,it came into exisence in 1966 with 33 buses.As of 2011, CTU has 517 buses,out of which 290 buses serves Chandigarh region whereas remaining are interstate covering - HR,PB,J&K,HP,RJ.

* Chandigarh police-:

The first chief of Chandigarh Police was Shri V. K. Kalia, SSP. The post of IGP was created in 1981 and 16 IGPs have been appoint till date. Presently Sh.Tajender Singh Luthra ,IPS, is the Inspector General of Police.The Chandigarh Police is presently headed by an Inspector General of Police who is ably assisted by a Deputy Inspector General of Police. The Senior Superintendent of Police looks after crime and law & Order aspects of policing whereas Traffic & Security is looked after by the Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic & Security). The training, operations and crime against women and children are looked after by Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations & Training). The Indian Reserve Battalion of Chandigarh Police is looked after by the Commandant, IRB.As a 2015,The present strength of Chandigarh Police is over 6000 men and women.This is under direct control of department of home affairs,Chandigarh administration (V. P. Singh Badnore).this is headed by (IGP)Inspector General of Police (Sh.Tajender Singh Luthra ,IPS).DIG(Deputy Inspector General) of Chandigarh- A.S. Cheema,IPS.
